While not everyone who frequents Tod’s Point (“the beach”) may have thought about parking in these terms, I am confident that if asked, most could easily identify their favorite places to park. Here I’ve listed my choice of parking spots by activity.
For playing in the sand
Between the first and second concessions, near the path to the beach in the bushes. This is the first lot on the left as you drive in.
For a meal at the Old Barn or a walk with a friend
The first lot is on the right as you drive in. In addition to being convenient to the gorgeous patio at the Old Barn, this area is perfect for meeting a friend because it is so easily described and found.
For a solo walk
The small lot by the picnic area with New York skyline views. Also known as the Windsurfer Beach parking lot, this lot is around the back. As you drive past the yacht club, sailing school, and Chimes Pond, this lot is directly ahead of you before the road turns ninety degrees to the left. This lot is shady and convenient to picnic areas, restrooms, and some of my favorite places to walk (especially with a stroller!).
