Independent Schools

There are a wide variety of independent schools in the Town of Greenwich and beyond its borders that serve students, families, and the community.

Brunswick School 

Brunswick School is an independent school for boys in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Brunswick has multiple campuses in town and its high school students share classes with Greenwich Academy students.

Eagle Hill School

According to its website, “Eagle Hill School offers children who learn differently the opportunity to transform into confident and resilient students empowered with strategies to meet challenges and flourish beyond Eagle Hill.” Students of Eagle Hill are typically aged 6-15.

Greenwich Catholic School

Greenwich Catholic School offers co-educational, faith-based education to children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

Greenwich Academy

Greenwich Academy is an independent school for girls in pre-Connecting (GA’s term for pre-kindergarten) through twelfth grade. GA has multiple campuses in town and its high school students share classes with Brunswick students.

Greenwich Country Day School

Greenwich Country Day School is an independent, co-educational school for children aged pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade with multiple campuses. GCDS historically ran through ninth grade, but merged with Stanwich School in recent years and now offers all four years of high school.

Sacred Heart Greenwich

According to its website, Sacred Heart Greenwich “...is an all-girls’ Catholic, independent college-preparatory day school that offers a rigorous academic program that challenges students to take on a variety of leadership roles on campus and beyond.” Sacred Heart Greenwich is part of worldwide Network of Sacred Heart Schools. 
 

Whitby School

Whitby School is a co-educational independent school for children aged 18 months through eighth grade. Whitby has accreditation through the American Montessori Society, the International Baccalaureate Organization, and the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools.

Greens Farms Academy (Westport, CT)

Greens Farms Academy is a co-educational independent school for children in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.


King School (Stamford, CT)

King School is a co-educational independent school for children in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. King School was formerly known as the King Low Heywood Thomas School.


Rye Country Day School (Rye, NY)

Rye Country Day School is a co-educational independent school for children in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.


The Masters School (Dobbs Ferry, NY)

According to its website, “The Masters School is an independent day and boarding school for students in grades 5 through 12 that empowers independent thinkers through an expansive and innovative curriculum based on active intellectual exploration.”

Winward School (White Plains, NY)

Winward School is a school for children with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. Winward has two White Plains campuses that serve students in grades 1-5 and 6-9, as well as a Manhattan campus that serves grades 1-8.
